On March 28, 2022, the provincial and federal governments reached an agreement on a national child care plan for Ontario. The new Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement will lower fees for parents and provide more accessible and high-quality child care for Ontario families.
Haldimand Norfolk Children’s Services is working with the Ministry of Education on the implementation of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement.
As per ministry guidelines, all licensed child care providers and licensed home child care agencies must notify families no later than September 1, 2022, if they are applying to participate in CWELCC. If you have a child under the age of six in licensed child care, your fees may be reduced by up to 25% (retroactively to April 1, 2022). However, you will continue to pay the current fees until your provider’s application for the CWELCC is approved.
We are committed to keeping the community, families, and partners updated and information will be shared as it becomes available.
